BIG CHANGES for The Knitting Broomstick in 2018!!!

Hello everyone!  I feel like it has been far too long since I have chatted with you all.  It's so nice to finally be posting and sharing some things that have been on my heart for awhile now.  I will warn you in advance that this post is long, so feel free to skip over the parts that don't interest you!  You will find updates in this post concerning my personal life, crafting, the Knitting Broomstick podcast, the 13 Months of Magic KAL (and other KALs), and the Knitting Broomstick Etsy shop.  I have added headers, in bold, so that you can easily skip to the sections that are of interest to you.  And if you read the whole entire thing; I owe you a massive cup of tea!!!!  ;) PERSONAL: First, I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season!  I can't believe it is almost over, but it has been a great one and I'm thankful for the time I have had with my family.  It was definitely a different holiday season; a bit of a slower one for us, and that has been nice.  Al

Spring Update and Goodbye For Now

Hello everyone!  It has been a minute since I have been able to sit down and connect with everyone.  It's early morning here in Oregon, and I'm sipping hot English breakfast tea while the baby naps in his swing.  Quiet moments like these are rare nowadays, so I savor them when I have them! Alaric is doing very well.  He is being seen and monitored weekly (and sometimes more).  There have been some changes with his heart function, but no solid plan has emerged yet.  Surgery may happen sooner than the original time frame we were given (4-6 months of age), but there are still so many unknowns.  I feel like I have gotten really good at making peace with the unknowns, and just taking it day by day. Beyond that, I am so grateful for this little being.  I remember when we left for our 2-week stay at the hospital (before he was born), and how uncertain I felt.  At that time we didn't know when we would be bringing home our baby or what his health condition would be.  So now, to

January 2019 Baby Update

Happy 2019, everyone!  I hope you all had a great holiday season and are looking forward to a wonderful, crafty year to come.   I must apologize for losing steam on Vlogmas this year!  It was something I genuinely wanted to do, and had continued to film and edit even though I didn't have time to finish editing and posting videos (after day 8, I think).  Eventually I was so behind, I decided to just let it go and try again some other year.  I also grossly underestimated my own energy levels at that point in the pregnancy.  As I moved into the third trimester, I was feeling extremely tired and had to reserve the energy I had for caring for my family and doing all of the things that go into holiday preparation.  Anyway, I wish I could have kept it up longer than I did, but I had a lot of fun making the few videos I did make!  Thank you all for being so patient with me and understanding. We had a great holiday as a family, filled with lots of R&R (we really needed that!) an
