March 2014 Socks: FURIOUSLY Knitting!

After all my hullabalooing (yes, that is a word... okay not really but it is now!) about how I wanted to ditch my 12-Socks-In-2014 resolution, here I am determined to make the deadline!  And I will, actually... I'm almost done with the second sock.  I let myself off a little bit easy and decided to knit a child-sized pair, which are intended as a Christmas gift for one of my sons.  I am proud of myself for two reasons:

1.  I am knitting a CHRISTMAS gift.  In MARCH.  Normally I save the Christmas knitting for two weeks before Christmas, and maybe, just maybe, I am actually learning my lesson and doing it early this year.  I have four kids and therefore four pairs of socks and four hats to knit before Holly Jolly Time (and that doesn't count the knitted gifts I want to make for hubby and other recipients) so really it makes sense to start now.  Proud of myself.

2.  I totally wanted to give up on this goal a few weeks ago, when really I just needed a little break from sock knitting.  I'm glad I was smart/ mature enough to give myself a break instead of haplessly abandoning the goal altogether.  I know, come the end of the year, I would only regret it.  Plus, I knit every day anyway, so why not a pair of socks?  Why not stick to a goal I set for once?  Here's to hoping I keep this attitude for the rest of the year!

I promise pics and more updates soon... but I'm on a deadline, folks!  Must get this sock finished!

  1. Sometimes you need to take a break. For me, it's not knitting any craft show product after the final craft show in November. I work on personal projects until January or Feb, then I get going again for craft show season.

BIG CHANGES for The Knitting Broomstick in 2018!!!

Hello everyone!  I feel like it has been far too long since I have chatted with you all.  It's so nice to finally be posting and sharing some things that have been on my heart for awhile now.  I will warn you in advance that this post is long, so feel free to skip over the parts that don't interest you!

PERSONAL:

First, I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season!  I can't believe it is almost over, but it has been a great one and I'm thankful for the time I have had with my family.  It was definitely a different holiday season; a bit of a slower one for us, and that has been nice.

Almost ever…
